Education is not just evolving; it's poised for a leap into the future. Join us as we discard single-score, standardized testing (IQ, SAT, and GRE scores). We distinguish three types of learning:

1. Rote learning merely increases speed and accuracy of performance.

2. Connected learning creates new levels of complexity through linking practices together merely because they have been performed together. It slowly builds toward expertise.

3. Transformative learning occurs when the new levels happen through a rich, deliberate process that is faster than the other types.

Expert performers have acquired new levels of complexity in numerous dimensions. All experts acquire more complex ways to observe, think, and collaborate. At least another six pathways are needed to distinguish one field of expertise from another. When we know what the levels are, we acquire them quicker.
