Help Key Terms
Knowledge has grown so rapidly that it overwhelms all of us. This guide organizes domains of expertise to make them easier to understand and remember what others know that we do not. Since nearly everyone has traveled, we use the travel domain as a model for learning about the others. We follow several rules for every section.
We use small groups of terms. Two to five terms per group are easy to remember. For larger groups of terms, we create an acronym that is a common, meaningful word.
Work domains are common professional or skilled occupations while life domains are social or personal needs.
Every domain map has five common goals that are similar for every domain and four unique goals that are different for every domain.
Each goal has five increasingly complex phases using beginning, exploring, sustaining, mastering, and inspiring phases.
We make each term meaningful.
We map each domain using the travel analogy.
We list historical milestones for each domain.
We answer standard questions about where to visit and learn, what are important standards, and how to use the map.
We use repetition.
Key words appear often

We provide a glossary of keywords with their definitions
We encourage active learning through personal reflections
A form for submitting personal reponses is provided
When we have enough personal responses for a domain, we will provide a summary
A link to the personal reflections summaries will be provided on the standard questions pages.
